Pure Geometric Art

Characteristics of Pure Geometric modern art:

Pure rectangular or curvilinear forms bearing no recongnizable relationships to natural forms; statically contained within the picture frame.

With few exceptions, space is treated two-dimensionally in painting and by a geometrical schematization in the sculpture constructions.

Origins of Pure Geometric midcentury modern art are Cubism, Constructivism, de Stijl, Bauhaus.
