Sarong

The geometric pattern of triangles with their points opposed identifies this pattern as part of a sarong. This always forms the centre panel of skirt cloths and is known as the head, or kapala. This section of the design is of medieval origin and illustrates the rigidly conservative character of traditional Javanese design.
